El fantástico caballero Don Quijote

In collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes, the Embassy of Spain will organise a conference-concert on the opera Don Quixote on 23 September 2021, a prelude to the Congress on Don Quixote to be held at the Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht from 27 September to 18 October, 2021. The lecture on this modern opera, composed by the Italian composer and producer Matteo Fania (who has been living in Spain for many years now) with lyrics by librettist Giovanni Privitera, includes a live performance by pianist Victor Pérez and two solo vocalists (tenor Gabriel Blanco and Matteo Fania as a baritone). The show will be accompanied by readings from the immortal novel and the projection of photos of the La Mancha countryside. Videos of the ballets from the original opera will also be shown.
