This comedy had a very popular success at the time, proof that casual enrichment is one of the most enduring dreams of Spanish citizens, perhaps the dreams of the entire world.

It is a humanist comedy that composes a picture of customs that brings us closer to a group of disadvantaged people in which it is easy to recognize the social reality of the country. The lights of the city at Christmas and the play of water on the streets during night cleaning, the protagonist's job, reveal a masterful photograph by Juan Mariné.

Synopsis: Pepe Martínez works in Madrid's night cleaning service watering the streets. His family is about to be expelled from their apartment, since they have not paid rent for more than a year. The disconsolate situation worsens with Christmas. But, one night, Pepe finds a wallet in a trash can full of bills. It seems his luck has changed.
