Thara

Planned as a mixed technique work, Thara adds the documentary look with the narrative through animation to achieve greater expressive freedom, only achievable through this technique. The short film openly shows the story of those transsexual people who are forced to work nights and reveals how difficult the lives of these women in Latin American countries can be.

Synopsis : The story centers on Thara, a Honduran transgender woman who lives with her mother. Society does not allow her to be a woman and her only option is to live at night, as a sex worker. Still, she is willing to risk everything and face the dangers of that kind of life, prejudice and violence in order to be herself.
