Meet the UNAM Corner at Gabriela Mistral Library
In this new space visitors, of the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney Library, can listen to or download for free audios of Mexican and Hispanic classics and contemporary works read by the author, as well as music, and science and arts conferences and courses. The audios of the UNAM Corner, in mp3 format, have been recorded by professional readers and in some cases by the authors themselves, and cannot be modified by the library users or subjected to any commercial transactions. Books may be accessed in PDF and IPUB (ebooks) formats via the UNAM portal “Descarga Cultura” that forms part of the of the UNAM cultural project.
The UNAM Corner offers fragments of works of authors such as Elena Poniatowska, Mario Vargas Llosa, Vicente Leñero, Juan Villoro, Horacio Quiroga, Fernando Savater, Enrique Vila-Matas, Antonio Skármeta, Rosario Castellanos, Oscar Wilde, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Fiodor Dostoievski and Anton Chejov among others. It is also possible to access classical and Mexican music concerts, in addition to scientific dissemination material and conferences in various fields of knowledge.
