Odors

Winner of the Grand Prize for Spanish Cinema at the Bilbao International Documentary and Short Film Festival, Olores is the debut short film by Alba Esquinas, with which she has garnered numerous selections at festivals and prestigious awards .  

This work without dialogue masterfully relies on its soundtrack to suggest emotions and sensations and address the theme of memory, turning a story of a specific woman into the story of many. 

Synopsis: A photograph appears at the bottom of a drawer and triggers the memories of an entire childhood: a childhood not only marked by the absence of the father who died in the war, but also by the slaughter of pigs and the blood-stained rags from the mother's butcher shop.
