In Bollaín's first film since Take My Eyes, the director tells the engaging story of three female detectives who try to combine their demanding work with their domestic life. Eva (Najwa Nimri) has just returned to work after maternity leave when she realizes that she has to take more and more work home with her. Inés (María Vázquez) is single and a workaholic, but her latest case makes her question her commitment. Carmen (Nuria González) is the oldest of the trio and her current work makes her question her life. Bollaín skillfully combines personal and political aspects while exploring gender relations both at work and at home. The film was nominated for six Goyas, including Best Director.
