Magallanes-El cano around the world

This event is offered in the framework of events held in Sydney on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Cervantes Institute in Australia and the celebration of the first circumnavigation of the world by the Spanish expedition of Magellan and Elcano. The 500th anniversary of this great navigational achievement will be marked by a brief conference. The conference will be hosted by the Australian Hispanist Luke Stegeman and the Australian Navy's Chris Maxworthy. During the conference we will discover the voyage; its achievements and the tragedies that occurred from five centuries ago. This was truly one of the greatest navigational achievements in global history. After the event we Will offer a cocktail to the attendees.
