The Table

With an interesting work of drawing on a black and white photographic image, the director Adrian Garcia Gomez delves into memory to locate his imaginary regarding identity and the past in the environment of the western and the Mexican cinema of the 40s and 50s. This short follows its predecessor Mikveh (2016), with which it is sensitively in tune with respect to its formality and its concerns, which the Californian creator will continue in his later work, using a much more complex visual composition.

Synopsis: A series of unconnected vignettes, sketched on fragments of westerns and old Mexican movies, introduce the filmmaker himself into these works, exploring identity and longings of the queer kid that he was. The short challenges the representation of men, love and masculinity.
