Marshland

Two teenage girls are murdered in a small Andalusian village. Madrid assigns two crime detectives with very different styles to the case. They are going through a rough time at the force. The story gets complicated when the investigation leads to other missing teenage girls and to a trail of drug trafficking. The backbone of the film is a classic American thriller in which Alberto Rodríguez goes further to delve into the political and social context of the time: the 80's Spanish Transition following Franco's death. Alberto Rodríguez directs this film after El traje (The Suit), 7 Virgins and Unit 7. Marshland has eventually stablished him as a director.

Not to be missed if you like noir cinema.
