The Love Scam
The Love Scam is an improvised staging — a blend of cinema, theatre and sociological essay — directed by Catalan filmmaker and editor Virginia García del Pino, which questions one of humanity's universal themes: (un)love, exposing perpetrators and victims within the romantic framework. Synopsis: A group of people gathers to read the script of a film about a man who seduced women in order to swindle them. As the reading of the script progresses, people begin to dig into their own stories. Everything is recorded live and the director herself acts as master of ceremonies. The result is a comparative reflection on the ideal of romantic love and on the extraordinary, and not necessarily positive, influence it exerts on both men and women.
