Pianist: Irma Thompson
BA (Piano hons) NAU Mexico Lic (Piano) NAU MéxicoMA (Art History) Irma Enriquez was born in Mexico City. She began studying music at the age of ten. In 1993 he obtained his degree with an honorable mention at the National School of Music UNAM- in Mexico and completed his Master's Degree in Art-Music in Spain. He has become an impressive professional pianist with a beautiful and expressive sound quality for his performance. She was awarded the first prize in the National Contest of UNAM in cultural events in 1993. She took several advanced piano courses since 1986. Irma has proven to be competent in a variety of roles as an accompaniment-research in music and pedagogy. He has recorded music for contemporary theater and Mexican music. Since 1995, he has organized, spoken and acted in a variety of international conferences in the United States, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Australia. Irma moved to Australia in 2000, teaches piano in the Hills area and has been the Coordinator of the Music program at Woodbury Autism-Education and Research. She currently promotes important works by contemporary Mexican and Latin American composers such as Duo Deconet. In 2010 he won the AHWBN Award (Hispanic Women's Business Network of Australia), in recognition of his Outstanding Achievement in promoting his Hispanic Heritage in Australia. In 2011, ANU-AILASA and the Mexican Embassy in Canberra presented the CD "Music of Mexican concert" by Duo Deconet. She has been nominated in Mexico for the National Arts Award 2011 for her initiative and intensive promotion of contemporary Latin American concert music in Australia with constant premieres.
Singer: Paola Monroy
Paola graduated from the University of Los Andes, Bogotá, with a degree in music. He performed at Dido and Aeneas at the Teatro Colón, directed by Ximena Bernal, participated in international workshops and master classes. He has played roles of Pamina, Die Zauberflöte, Mozart; Amore, Orpheus ed Euridice, Gluck and Fairy, The Fairy Queen, Henry Purcell. He has also sung the soprano solos in Handel’s Messiah and the “Te Deum” by M. Charpentier with the vocal group Iuventus, as a soprano soloist, under the direction of Juan Carlos Mariño. Paola is currently pursuing a Master in Music at A.I.M with teacher Wendy Dixon. He has performed in recitals at St. Andrews Cathedral, art gallery, played the role of "Fairy" in the AIM production of 'The Fairy Queen' 2013. Currently, Paola is presented in the series "The Cushion Concerts "in Chime," Divas on Demand "Opera Company," Operasphere "Opera Company and Nella Luce Studio with whom he has been performing regularly since 2015.
