Allende, mi abuelo Allende
Marco AvilezAfter completing her film training and forging a career as a short filmmaker, the granddaughter of President Salvador Allende surprised the film world by undertaking this very personal documentary. Her approach to the mythical figure of her grandfather, whom she did not know personally, since he went into exile in Mexico at just two years old, had immediate recognition and earned her participation in the Cannes Festival, in addition to an excellent career in other contexts that attest to the value of this first-person documentary proposal. Synopsis: Director Marcia Tambutti Allende, granddaughter of Salvador Allende, reconstructs with this documentary the life and image of her grandfather, the socialist president who was overthrown by the army in the coup d'état September 1973. Together with other members of his family, in this film they break the silence imposed by exile and pain.
