32nd Symposium on Children and Young Adult Literature & Book Fair
Edu FloresOn Friday, 9 June 2023, Instituto Cervantes New York celebrates the 32nd Symposium on Children's and Young Adult Literature. The Symposium aims to contribute to the professional development of New York City teachers and features experts on children's and young adult literature and in training teachers of Spanish. Our Keynote speaker this year is the writer Rafael Salmerón, winner of the 2022 National Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature in Spain with the book “La rama seca del cerezo”. Other speakers are Pilar Caballero-Alias, professor of Arts and Languages at Iona University (New Rochelle, NY), and Diana Chery-Ramírez, playwright and teacher of Spanish as a foreign language. Complementing the Symposium there is a Book Fair with publishers and distributors dedicated to children's and youth literature.
