The Venerable Alvear Winery
Alvear, founded in 1729, is one of the oldest wineries in Spain. It is also one of the leaders of the Montilla-Moriles appellation, and one of the best producers of fortified wines, rivaling the top Sherry houses. Montilla-Moriles wines are made in styles similar to those of Sherry, but using the Pedro Ximénez grape variety instead of Palomino. In this unique tasting we will explore the fascinating range of wines made by Alvear, including their rare and acclaimed Sacristia vintage dated PXs.
