Tempranillo vs. Cabernet

Tempranillo is Spain’s answer to Cabernet Sauvignon. Whereas the old traditional wines from Rioja represent a unique style, modern Tempranillo-based wines made in Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Toro share a few traits with internationally styled powerful and tannic cabernets. In this fun tasting we will compare tempranillos from these areas with cabernets from Bordeaux, Tuscany and California.
