1 million children miss out each year on their education because of traffic accidents and every single minute a child has an accident on the road somewhere. UNICEF and Abertis have a strong commitment to tackle this vital issue. As a result, and with the support of the Spanish foreign Affairs Ministry, they signed the ‘Rights of Way’ toensure a safe journey to and from school for all children. During the event, UNICEF, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Abertis will present the collaboration´s main objectives and the work that done to date on the ground. The Institut Guttmann will explain the impact of road accidents in developing countries. Following this, the panel will present insights and global trends and discuss what needs to happen next to improve child road safety worldwide.
