Rioja. Historic Centenary Wineries

Modern Rioja was born in the second half of the 19th century, predating its recognition as a wine appellation by over half a century. A handful of pioneering wineries, starting with Marqués de Murrieta and Marqués de Riscal, were founded in the northern part of the region and created wines with a distinctive personality that later came to be recognized as traditional Rioja. Most of them are still the region’s leaders today. This tasting seminar is devoted to get to know the oldest wineries in Rioja and the styles of the wines they produce.
