Garnacha Renaissance

Garnacha is known all over the world by its French name Grenache, but it is native of Aragón in Spain, whence it spread to Rioja, the rest of the country, the south of France, the Mediterranean, Australia and the Americas. Led by the powerful wines of Priorat, the last three decades has seen a strong revival of Garnacha that has resulted in unexpected and fascinating wines in Montsant, Aragón (where Robert Parker awarded his coveted 100 points to two Alto Moncayo wines), Rioja, and more recently, in the areas around Madrid and the Southeast. In this seminar we will explore the styles of the best Garnacha-based wines from Spain and abroad.
