Miguel León-Portilla
Leon-PortillaExpert and advocate of prehispanic Mexico and, without a doubt, one of the best Mexican intellectuals and historians, Miguel León-Portilla is a pioneer in the study of Nahuatl literature and philosophy and a fundamental figure in Mexican culture. His best known work La visión de los vencidos (1956), translated to English as The Broken Spears, has been published at least 30 times and translated into more than 20 languages. In honor of his work an interview will be screend, followed by a conference with The Ambassador from Mexico in United Nations, and the lecture of the Poem When a Language Dies by the writer Miguel Gleason.
