Met Expert Talks en español—El arte de contar historias
As part of the exhibition “Guardians of the Glaciers,” photographer Ángela Ponce will give a talk in Spanish on Friday, January 30, 2026, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as part of the “Met Expert Talk” program. In this special session, Ponce will select three pieces from the Met’s collection related to her culture and share with visitors personal and collective stories that connect art with memory, spirituality, and the resilience of Andean peoples. The event will take place in the Michael C. Rockefeller Wing, dedicated to the Ancient Americas, where attendees will be able to explore the historical connections between the artist’s photography and the museum’s pieces. In addition to gaining new perspectives on the selected works, the audience will have the opportunity to observe them in detail, hear previously untold stories, and actively engage by asking questions to the guest artist.
