Lorca + Ochoa: The musical art
Enrique Ochoa (1891-1978) was a humanist and multifaceted artist. Despite his solid classical artistic training, he became one of the 20th century painters to stand out for his innovative “musical plasticity” within the gestural art and abstraction movements. His work is without a doubt a statement of modernity and the avant-garde reflexive ofhis constant innovation and restlessness. The Painted Word illustrates Ochoa’s musical plasticity inspired by García Lorca’s Romancero Gitano reflecting the synergies he kept with the poet and the painter’s extraordinary eclecticism.
