The second golden decade

The second decade of the 21st century has been the best in Spain's wine history, surpassing the previous one. In most wine regions, over half of the vintages were very good to excellent, and some, like 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020, compare favorably with the best vintages of the past. At the same time, 2013 is considered the best year ever in Priorat, and 2018 is the best in Bierzo and the northwest. Along with this, the ongoing revolution that has taken place in Spain since the 1990s has resulted in a more extensive and more diverse crop of top wineries and wines than in previous decades. In this seminar, we will taste the most outstanding vintages of this historic decade from Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Toro, Bierzo, Priorat, Jumilla, and other wine regions.
