La Celestina

Atalaya, the theatre company under the direction of Ricardo Iniesta, has had great success touring La celestina, a performance based on one of the greatest works of Spanish literature, of the same name, by Fernando de Rojas. They have garnered many awards including the Spanish National Theatre Prize of 2008. They are showcasing their work in New York City for the first time in this adapted version of the original performance, for a more intimate space. Humor, eroticism and class conflicts are all present in the story of the impossible love between Calisto and Melibea. Director Ricardo Iniesta brings to the stage this classic novel with bravery, wisdom and tenacity. Not to be missed!
