La Argentinita en New York

This illustrated lecture celebrates the legacy of La Argentinita, the iconic singer and bailaora Encarnación López Júlvez. Led by José Javier León, it explores her artistry, her collaborations with Federico García Lorca, and the ways she expanded flamenco by bridging it with ballet, Spanish song, and modern experimentation. Throughout the lecture, festival artists will illustrate La Argentinita’s vision through live musical and dance performances integrated into the presentation.
