International Book Fair of New York City
FILNYC, The Feria Internacional del Libro de la Ciudad de Nueva York (International Book Fair of New York City) is an initiative of the Mexican Studies Institute of The City University of New York (CUNY) in collaboration with The City College of New York Downtown, The New York Public Library and the newspaper El Diario. FILNYC has grown out of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with the aim of providing an inclusive forum for sharing and celebrating literature in Spanish. The second edition of FILNYC International Book Fair of New York City will take place virtually during the month of October 2020. The FILNYC will focus on various topics: the impact of the pandemic on the publishing industry, the growth of Spanish language books in the United States, literature written by women, the literary diversity of the LGBTQ community and the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the New York Public Library, among others.
