Aporophobia
In a world built on a political, economic and social contract, poverty doesn't fit into the interations of giving and receiving, and a population of poor people becomes excluded from these everyday societal exchanges. This new phenomenon, named 'aporophobia' by Adela cortina -C hair of Ethics at the University of Valencia-, is a rejection of poverty. The rejection of poor people is a daily attempt on their dignity and wellbeing as well as on democratic values, and has universal implications. This behavior has societal roots, which can and must be modified if we take seriously the ethical keys of a democratic society that ppresumes to be just. Moderated by Magdy Martinez-Soliman
