1994. Thirty Years Later

1994 can still be considered the best vintage of the 20th century. Maybe 1964 or 1982 can marginally surpass it in quality, but 1994 became the showcase year for a generation of new producers from Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Priorat that were bursting into the spotlight of the Spanish wine world and offers an unmatched diversity and quality of great wines that can only be equaled by 1995. Now, thirty years later, it is time to evaluate if the wines from 1994 are living up to their lofty promise.
