100 years of Rioja

Instituto Cervantes in New York is pleased to present a special evening to mark the centenary of the Rioja Designation of Origin, one of Spain's most iconic and prestigious wine regions. This commemorative event will bring together leading figures from the world of Spanish wine for a round table discussion followed by a guided wine tasting experience. We will be joined by Pablo Álvarez, general manager of Tempos Vega Sicilia; Jesús Madrazo, renowned Rioja winemaker; and Víctor Ordóñez, representative of Bodegas Muga. The conversation will be led by Helio San Miguel, who will guide attendees through a reflection on the legacy, innovation, and future of Rioja wines. After the roundtable discussion, attendees will enjoy a guided tasting of selected Rioja wines, highlighting the diversity, quality, and character that have defined this region for the past hundred years.
