A new edition of the seminar given by the Cátedra Vargas Llosa and the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures at The City College, CUNY, with the collaboration of the Instituto Cervantes New York. Latinx writers Ernesto Quiñónez and Lyn Di Iorio will discuss the boom and why it still matters today. The colloquium moderated by Carlos Riobó is titled "Vargas Llosa's Sables and Utopias" and will analyze the role of myth in the minds of Latin American boom writers during the Cold War and the Cuban Revolution.
