Cows
Over three generations, two families from a small valley in Gipuzkoa (the Irigibel and the Mendiluce) maintain tortuous relationships, marked by violence, a hateful rivalry and the most visceral passions. The story begins in Guipúzcoa, in 1875. In a Carlist trench, during the war, Manuel (Carmelo Gómez / Txema Blasco), a famous Aizkolari, manages to save his life by smearing himself with blood from a corpse and pretending to be dead. When escaping from a cart that transports corpses, he runs into a huge cow. His presence gives her a strange sensation that will turn into an obsession throughout his life. From here, the history of three generations is narrated until the beginning of the Spanish Civil War in 1936.
