 Hindi translation of the short story collection “Materia Grisa” by Teresa Solana Matèria Grisa

Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi is organizing a conference, where the Hindi translation of the short story collection “Materia Grisa” by Teresa Solana will be presented. The translation has been done for the first time directly from Catalan to Hindi by the translator Sameer Rawal. The author, Teresa Solana, will participate online together with the professor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Maneesha Taneja. Among the panelists, we will have the presence of the poets Dr. Uma Shankar Choudhary and Dr. Jyoti Chawla. The editor of the translation, Dr. Parminder Singh, will also participate. 


About Sameer Rawal

Sameer Rawal, a Hispanist, writer and translator whose work is available in four languages: Hindi, English, Spanish and Catalan. He has translated two works by Mercè Rodoreda into Hindi: the novel, La plaza de Diamant and the anthology of stories, Todos los cuentos. In addition, he has taught Hindi and has imparted translation courses at Casa Asia in Barcelona and Catalan at the Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi.
