The Last Bandoneon
The young bandoneonist Marina Gayotto, who makes a living playing on buses and on the metro, attends an audition called by the great conductor Rodolfo Mederos to form his new tango orchestra. But the girl's shagged bandoneon is deteriorated and Mederos himself suggests the need to get an instrument that is up to the task. Marina, then, goes on an impetuous search for a mythical Double A, the Stradivarius of the bandoneons. Her search turns into a journey through old lutheries, the dancehalls of the city, the tango "masters" and, above all, the old glories of the bandoneon.
