Antonia Santolaya has a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and later furthered her studies in engraving at St Martins University in London. She currently teaches analogue illustration techniques and a Master's degree at the UDIT university, Madrid.
In 2017 she obtained a nine-month artistic residency at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome.
2011 First prize in the 5th International Illustrated Album Competition of Gran Canaria “Nada el pensamiento”
2010 Honorable mention at “Invenciones 2010” Mexico for “La mujer pájaro”
2000 Won the Apel award. Les Mestres (Destino Publishing House) “The Ladies of Light”
She has given workshops and lectures at the University of Angers-France, at the ABC Museum, the Instituto Cervantes in Oran (Algeria), at the University of Zaragoza, Alicante, at the Escuela Superior de Arte 10 in Madrid, Mérida and Logroño. She has developed most of her work in the publishing world, combining it with exhibitions.
