We are Dust

The premiere of the short film Ropes at this year's Cannes Film Festival clearly heralds the creative maturity of the Bilbao director Estibaliz Urresola, trained in the struggles of production. Since 2012, with the creation of her production company Sirimiri Films, she has already produced four short feature films that demonstrate the ease with which she moves between the documentary gaze and the narrative solvency of fiction. With this, her second short film, she demonstrates her concern for the world of identity and family, which runs through all of her work as a thematic line.

Synopsis: Ane returns to her hometown to the unexpected funeral of her grandfather. Her return forces her to face her tense reunion with the women of her family. Everything takes on strange overtones when she begins to suspect certain anomalies on the part of the undertaker.
