LO INCORPÓREO (Ultimate Dances) – Dani Pannullo Dani Pannullo

The Embassy of Spain in New Delhi organizes a show with  urban dance artists from India and España who, under the tutelage of Spanish choreographer and stage director Dani Pannullo, unite for the first time in this tryst of contemporary and urban dance titled Ultimate Dances, inspired by the texts of playwright Alessandro Fersen.

This ex novo piece, conceived and developed over the course of a residency of 10 days in the Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi, tries to decipher new methods and forms that are already finding their due place on the big stage of global culture. India is leading this movement - and we are not talking about its ancestral dances or its world-famous Bollywood - with new dance forms that have emerged in the recent Internet era in this part of the world to influence millions of young people. The ‘modern’ dances of this century, born in the big cities, are full of innovative ideas.  These ideas arise from the unstoppable desire for change, like a poetic flow away from certain academicisms.

Pannullo, in his work Ultimate dances, plays with the concept of the intangible, of the absence of the physical body, of the abstract, of that which occupies no space, the untouchable. We delve into a place that confronts the very name of the show, to live a singular experience designed with the concept of the physically impossible, where both imagination and music influence the creation of an emotional vortex.

“on the other hand, dance as a rite immerses the dancing body in a visionary dimension that places it - beyond useful movement - in the area of play.” – Alessandro Fersen
