The Script of the Infinite
Irene DubrovskyThe artist Irene Dubrovsky's exhibition presents a set of paintings and installations that link visual writings and celestial maps. The artist recreates an experience of contemplation of a starry night in which the passage of time expands and multiplies the signs of the cosmos in iridescent images. She explores the inseparable relationship of fabric and text in diagrams of classical astronomy and contemporary cosmology. A proliferation of orbits and geometries intersect in pieces of paper that recall the origins of human writing, the first books and codices. Appropriating different types of alphabets, the artist traces the path of the Milky Way. Perforated dots and grooves recreate a score, an itinerary, a mathematical secret, the primal sounds of music and letters. The exhibition is made up of pictorial pieces, drawings, installations and videos. The proposal combines traditional techniques with other technological codes of the contemporary world. The curator, Irene Dubrovsky, will give a guided tour of the exhibition during the opening. About Irene Dubrovsky. Mexican Argentine visual artist.
