Joan Mascaró

A pioneering figure of Sanskritism in Spain, the Majorcan Joan Mascaró developed almost his entire academic career in Cambridge, where he went into exile. He translated the Baghavad Gita , several Uppanishads , and the Dammaphada into English, and published among other books a popular anthology of sacred texts titled Lamps of fire . With this webinar we want to rescue this essential figure of European orientalism.
