Homage to Mario Vargas Llosa
The second session of “Hispanism in Action” will be dedicated to the works of recently deceased Peruvian author, Mario Vargas Llosa. The hispanist Lipi Biswas Sen and the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of Peru in India Enrique Descalzi will discuss the figure of the author, a reference of Spanish literature and of the Latin American Boom of the 1960s and 1970s.On the one hand, the literary contributions of the writer will be analyzed through specific examples of some of his novels, showing the Indian public his themes, style and resources, and on the other hand, we will approach the professional and personal career of the author and his link with Peru.
