The young Chilean guitarist will offer a scintillating evening that will combine the classical with the popular and include pieces by Domenico Scarlatti, the maestro Joaquín Rodrigo or others by Violeta Parra, Víctor Jara and Astor Piazzolla. 


Gonzalo Arias is one of the most outstanding classical guitarists of his generation. Born in Los Andes, Chile, in 1989, he began studying music at an early age, earning a Bachelor of Arts with a Special Mention in Musical Performance from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, graduating in 2014 with the highest distinction by the Romilio Orellana Chair. In 2014 he obtained a Diploma in Music Performance from the University of Indiana under the tutelage of Ernesto Bitetti. In 2017 he graduated with top honors from the Peck School of Arts of the University of Wisconsin under the professorship of the virtuoso Cuban guitarist Rene Izquierdo. Arias has won numerous prizes in guitar competitions and festivals such as the J. S. Bach International Guitar Competition in Tokyo, in 2018, and the Troy University Competition in Alabama, in 2019. He has performed in important concert halls such as at the Embassy of Argentina in New York and the Public Theater , New York.
