VENEZUELA'S EL SISTEMA

The National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela (Simón Bolívar Musical Foundation) - also known as the System - is a national public musical education program founded in 1975 in Venezuela the mission of which is to "systematize the instruction and collective and individual practice of music, through symphony orchestras and choirs, as instruments of social organization and humanistic development. He has produced such outstanding figures as conductor Gustavo Dudamel, current director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. This talk will be dedicated to this important educational institution that has marked an era.
