The World That Was and the One That Is
Stylistic and media sobriety is one of the keys to Pablo Llorca's cinema and makes his filmic practice a gesture of resistance. Both in his fiction films and in his documentaries, Llorca tells unusual stories, neglected in the hegemonic audiovisual imagery, which nevertheless explain in a clear way the cultural and political coordinates of our country. The journey through the history of the Communist Party of Spain in the central decades of the twentieth century, which he carries out in this film, show as footprints marked on shaky ground an accurate portrait of contemporary Spain.
