Song Without a Name

Song Without a Name Troïka. Benjamin Seznec

Andean cinema —Bolivian, Peruvian or Ecuadorian— has been collecting various stories about crimes sponsored by eugenics and the theft of children since the work of Jorge Sanjinés, Yawar Mallku (1969). Melina León's debut feature updates the story of these terrible practices with a forceful aesthetic commitment, based on an intelligent use of black and white, which abounds in the impact of events that go beyond mere chronicle to nuance the horror of its content.

Synopsis: It is the story of Georgina Condori, an Andean Musician whose newborn baby mysteriously disappears. In the midst of the political chaos of the time, Pedro Campos, a young journalist from Lima, takes charge of the investigation and undertakes the desperate search with her.
