46th International Kolkata Book Fair
Ministerio de CulturaWithin the framework of the 46th International Kolkata Book Fair (India) in which Spain is the guest of honour country this year, the Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi will develop a varied program of cultural and academic activities in the Spanish pavilion that will include conferences, poetry readings and book presentations, and which will have various Indian Hispanists and Spanish writers as protagonists. Inaugurated in 1976, the International Kolkata Book Fair is one of the largest non-commercial book fairs in the world in terms of visitor numbers, representing an exceptional opportunity to introduce contemporary literature in the languages of Spain to the Indian public and promote Hispanicism in this Asian country. In the inauguration of the Fair, which will take place on Monday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m. (IST) in the main pavilion of the Fair, the director of Instituto Cervantes, Luis García Montero, will participate among other personalities.
