¡Bienvenido Míster Marshall!
Bienvenido Míster Marshall (cartel de la película)Villar del Río is a small quiet, poor, and forgotten town, where nothing ever happens out of the ordinary. Only the arrival of the folk singer Carmen Vargas and her attorney and representative has given a new note to the boring life of the town. That same morning a government delegate suddenly appears, announcing the arrival, at any moment, of a Marshall Plan commission. Juan Antonio Bardem and Luis García Berlanga, helped by Miguel Mihura, wrote this corrosive story based on the discomfort produced in Spain for not having participated in the distribution of American aid known as the Marshall Plan, whose purpose was the reconstruction of a battered Europe after world war.
