Viaje al cuarto de una madre
Arcadia Motion PicturesSynopsis: Leonor and her mother Estrella's relationship falters when she decides to leave home. What both of them do not tell each other and what they must face embarks them on a journey -physical, but also mental- in which they must learn to stop being mother and daughter to start being each of them separately. It is a double identity journey, rooted in the spaces and everyday gestures they share in common. Celia Rico's debut feature was a real wake-up call in the Spanish film scene. It garnered 18 nominations to disty the Asecan Award for best film. The masterful interpretation of the relationship between a mother and her daughter by two outstanding actresses, Lola Dueñas and Anna Castillo, only underpinned the narrative rigor and the stupendous staging of a film that forcefully exemplifies the expression "good cinema".
