This comedy had a very popular success at the time, proof that casual enrichment is one of the most enduring dreams of Spanish citizens, perhaps of the dreams of the whole world. It is a humanist comedy that composes a picture of customs that brings us closer to a group of disadvantaged people in which it is easy to recognize the social reality of the country. Synopsis: Pepe Martínez works in the night cleaning service of Madrid watering the streets. His family is about to be evicted from their apartment, as they have not paid the rent for more than a year. The situation of grief worsens with the Christmas season. But, one night, Pepe finds a wallet in a garbage can full of bills. It seems that his luck has changed.
