Nebrija en Filipinas
Diseño: Jesus Moreno y AsociadosWe are pleased to invite you to visit the second leg of the exhibition NEBRIJA IN THE PHILIPPINES, which will be inaugurated on August 22 and will be held at the University of Santo Tomas Miguel de Benavides Library (Manila). Co-organized by Instituto Cervantes with the University of Santo Tomas, and in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, the Antonio Nebrija Foundation (Madrid), the National Library of Spain, Vibal Group Inc., this exhibit highlights Nebrija's important cultural legacy and contextualize it within the publication of the first grammars of the vernacular languages of the Philippines, works that are inspired by his teachings. Thanks to Nebrija's influence, languages such as Tagalog and Ilocano had a structured grammar even before many European languages did.
