La sabina
Lars Goran BjorneMichael is an English writer who moves to a Spanish village with the aim of changing his life. He decides to investigate the life of a wandering man who lived there in the 19th century, since it is said that he was killed by a dragon woman, known as "La Sabina". Starting from the story of the English man who travel to Spain in search of its mystery, from the 19th century onwards, the film plunges into a strange world, where it is still possible to access certain mythology about women, who share the foreign and local gaze of the small Andalusian town where it takes place. Furthermore, this enclave is offered to us as a reborn manner, which the director José Luis Borau already sees from a new perspective about previous Spanish cinema. The film is a co-production with Sweden and presents in the role of Pepa a young Ángela Molina immersed in an international cast (with Ovidi Montllor), which confirms her place in European and international cinema, which she had accessed two years before Buñuel's hand.
