La Rosa Blanca
In the early 1990’s, an illiterate
Indian (Ignacio Lopez Tarso) lives an idyllic existence as a landowner on
Mexico's Gulf Coast until the greed of a US oil company, Condor Oil Co., gets
in the way. He is murdered and the lives of all those around him are irrevocably
destroyed as the company takes over the land by crooked means.
The film exposes the evils of
multinational capitalism told through the story of a U.S. oil company and it
devastating effects on the lives of the native people of a small town on the
coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Based on the novel by B.Traven.
