Jone, Sometimes
Sara Fantova's debut film offers us an intimate and delicate portrait of identity formation and the father-daughter relationship at a time of change, she reinterprets a theme she explored earlier in her short film No me despertéis de 2028 (Don't Wake Me Up from 2028). Synopsis: The film narrates the coming of age of Jone, a young woman experiencing her first love while her father's Parkinson's disease unexpectedly accelerates. During Bilbao's Semana Grande festival, Jone will experience a sense of immortality as she spends time with Olga, while also struggling to accept her father's particular way of dealing with his illness. These events turn this summer into the moment when Jone realizes that the girl she is, is becoming the adult she is destined to be. (Source: Atera Films)
